The VOICE of the People's ChurchText Box: A father and a son were taking a walk in the mountains. Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself, and screams: "AAhhhhh!" To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAhhhhh!" Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are you?" Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!" Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: "People call this Echo, but really this is Life. It gives you back everything you say or do." Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life. Life will give you back everything you have given to it." Your life is not a coincidence. It is a reflection of you.
I want to commend you for the reflection you have been casting so far in 2010. In spite of the cold, rainy, and dreary weather, our attendance has been very good for January. I pray that this will continue throughout the year. I want to encourage you to invite someone to come to Sunday School and Worship with you this Sunday. It is a proven fact that most people visit a church because they have been invited by a church member. If you want to see

more people at Stallings, then get busy and invite them.

A number of you have asked me about giving for the needs in Haiti.  You can give in any number of ways.  I would suggest that you give through the Baptist Men of North Carolina.  However, you can do this through our church.  You can write your check to Stallings and designate it for: Haiti Relief – NCBM, and we will forward the gift to them.  Or you can send the check directly to them or your preferred organization.  But please give above your regular tithe to reflect the love and care of God to those who are in desperate need.

May others be encouraged by what they see being reflected from Stallings, and may each of us be challenged to be a better reflection of God’s love to the world around us, beginning on our own street.  Have a great week!
